Bursting with notes of papaya, lime, and pineapple, Jeinner’s washed Geisha is a vibrant, sparkling trip to the Caribbean. While it’s worth brewing for those glorious tropical flavors alone, there’s so much more going on here. The immediate impression is vibrant and fruity, but the dominant experience from this creamy, full-bodied coffee is much more like spiced cookies. Think of Biscoffs, Speculoos, or Gingersnap cookies, with candied bits of those tropical fruits accompanying. It’s sweet, sure, but there’s a crackling edge of warmth giving this coffee depth and complexity that’s only possible with just the perfect amount of development during the roasting process. Notes of shortbread and raspberry are also present.
Jeinner’s coffee is great for fine-tuning to your preferred brewing technique. With its creamy, buttery body, upping the ratio of water to coffee highlights the vibrant, sparkling acidity of those tropical fruit notes without thinning down the flavors. If you prefer a more concentrated brew with a lower ratio of water to coffee, the spiced cookie flavors take center stage.
Jeinner’s story began with curiosity—first about the Geisha varietal, and then about what it meant to push quality forward on a small farm. He planted his first seeds after learning about the variety’s potential in Panama. Since then, his work has inspired others in Cajamarca to pursue excellence with this delicate and high-reward cultivar.
Jeinner’s parents support him during the harvest, and the whole family is part of the Sol y Café cooperative. Interest in Geisha has grown steadily in the region, and Jeinner has been a key part of that momentum. This one’s meant to spark conversation—between brewing nerds, black coffee skeptics, and anyone curious about how far coffee can stretch beyond the familiar. Jeinner’s Geisha is not just a flavor experience—it’s a window into the future of Peruvian coffee.
